ABOUT
Maralyn Tabatsky's love of baking was fostered by her mother, grandmother, and aunt, who over the years have provided both family recipes and helpful advice.
After beginning her career as a special education teacher, one day Maralyn decided it was time to let her passion for baking express itself fully. She opened Have Your Cake in 1987.
She began by subletting space from a caterer, then established her own certified-kosher kitchen in South San Francisco in 1995. Since then, she has been pleased to serve her custom-designed cakes and desserts to a broad clientele in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Have Your Cake produces varied styles, from elegant and sophisticated to whimsical. Maralyn’s cakes have appeared in Elegant Bride, the San Jose Mercury, j (The Jewish News Weekly), and Today’s Bride. Maralyn has also collaborated with artist Franco Mendini-Ruiz for an exhibit at the SFMOMA. For the gala reopening of the City Club of San Francisco, Maralyn created a model of the City Club and Pacific Coast Stock Exchange buildings, complete with statues. These architectural projects are challenging and great fun! |
